Terms and conditions
Version dated 1 October 2026
Length of stay
The client commits to a fixed term of a minimum of 2 nights and may under no circumstances claim any right to remain in the premises, the signed quote serving as the contract.
In July and August, the minimum stay is 6 nights.
Booking confirmation
Stays are guaranteed only upon receipt of the deposit, which is deductible from the invoice. The deposit is cashed on receipt.
Deposit
A deposit of 30% of the total price of the stay is required, payable either by cheque (made out to “Au Puits Doré”) or by bank transfer. Your booking becomes firm once the deposit has been cashed. Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Payment of the balance and security deposit
The balance must be paid no later than 14 days before arrival.
Any consumption and additional services not mentioned in the quote must be paid to the owner at the end of the stay.
For every stay, a security deposit of €500 will be requested on arrival, by cheque or, for clients who do not have a French chequebook, in cash. It will be returned on departure.
Cancellation by the client
If the client cancels more than 14 days before the start of the stay, the owner refunds the deposit in full.
If the cancellation occurs within 14 days before the start of the stay, the deposit and the balance of the accommodation price for the stay are retained by the owner.
If the client cuts the stay short, the price corresponding to the cost of the accommodation is retained in full by the owner.
Cancellation by the owner
If the owner cancels the stay before it begins, the owner must inform the client by email or, failing that, by telephone. Without prejudice to any claim for compensation for damage the client may have suffered, the client will be refunded immediately for all sums already paid.
Arrival time
The client must arrive on the day specified in the booking, from 5 pm for weekly stays (from 4 pm for weekend stays). The owner must be notified of any arrival after 9 pm. For any arrival outside the times set out above, the client must obtain the owner’s agreement (for example, luggage may be dropped off during the day).
Departure time
Rooms must be vacated before 10 am for a weekly stay from Saturday to Friday or from Sunday to Saturday. For weekend stays from Friday to Sunday, the departure time is exceptionally set at 4 pm.
Accommodation service
The service includes accommodation, access to the whole gite, the pool and the terrace, as well as bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning.
Tourist tax
The tourist tax is a local tax which the client must pay to the owner, who then pays it over to the French Treasury (Trésor public).
Capacity and pricing conditions
The minimum applicable rate corresponds to accommodation for 8 people for 2 nights (or 6 nights in July and August).
A supplement is charged for each additional person for the whole stay, up to the gite’s maximum capacity of 12 people.
The rental contract is drawn up for a specific number of people. Only the people named in the contract are permitted to stay on the premises.
If, on arrival or during the stay, the number of guests exceeds this number and the owner has not been informed, the owner may charge a penalty of €50 per person per night, up to a limit of 12 people.
Where the initial contract is drawn up for 12 people, if on arrival or during the stay the number of guests exceeds 12, the owners will refuse the additional guests.
This refusal may in no case be regarded as a modification or termination of the contract on the owner’s initiative; accordingly, if a greater number of guests than those refused leave, no refund can be considered.
Use of the premises
The client must respect the peaceful character of the premises and use them in accordance with their intended purpose. The client undertakes to return the accommodation and its equipment in good condition, to report any damage for which they may be responsible and to bear the cost of its repair.
The client must inform the owners of any external service provider working on the premises during their stay (caterer, private chef, etc.).
No meals may be eaten in the bedrooms.
The bed linen and towels stored in the cupboard in the “laundry room” are NOT freely available to guests.
The whole gite is non-smoking.
Use of the pool
The owners’ pool is a private, unsupervised pool.
Its use is reserved exclusively for the owners and for people staying at Au Puits Doré.
It is open from mid-April to mid-October, subject to favourable weather conditions.
The pool is secured by a rigid cover.
Children on the Au Puits Doré property, including in and around the pool, are under the full supervision and responsibility of their parents. On arrival, adults accompanied by one or more children will be asked to sign a waiver of liability concerning the pool and its use.
Liability
The owner accepts no liability for any accident occurring during the stay and cannot be held liable for theft of or damage to the client’s property.
Animals
Animals are not allowed. If a client leaves because their animal has been refused, no refund can be considered.
Acceptance of the terms
The applicable terms and conditions are those in force on the date of booking. Acceptance of and compliance with these terms and conditions are deemed to be established as soon as the deposit is paid.
